Kindee Thai Restaurant

Our Story

“Best Family Own Thai Foods In Town” — the words on Kindee Thai’s first website, and still the idea behind every plate.

Family-Owned

One Family, One Kitchen

Kindee Thai is a family-owned Thai restaurant in northeast Vancouver, on NE 162nd Avenue. The family opened its doors — and its first website — back in 2014, and the promise on that first page was simple: “Best Family Own Thai Foods In Town.”

The menu is built on family recipes: northern Thai Khao Soi with its crispy noodle crown, coconut-rich Tom Kha, wok-fired Pad Kee Mao, and the house favorite — Kindee BBQ Chicken, marinated in a secret honey lemongrass sauce and barbecued to order.

Nearly every dish is made to order, and the family is happy to cook for every table — vegan and gluten-free options included, at whatever heat you can handle: mild, medium, hot, or very hot.

From the Beginning

The Original Kindee Thai Website

The restaurant’s first website carried its name in lights and a banner photo of the dining room. Both images below are from that original site.

What We Cook

Comfort Food, Thai Style

Regulars come for the Khao Soi, the Floating Salmon in green curry, the crispy duck, and desserts like fresh mango with sweet sticky rice — purple yam ice cream on the side. Lunch or dinner, dine-in or takeout, it is the same family kitchen.
